What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy at Joint Health Space is built around precision, expertise, and long-term results. Our focus is not simply on relieving pain, but on restoring strength, movement quality, and confidence in your body.

We specialise in musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation. Whether you are managing a persistent issue or recovering from surgery, we deliver structured, evidence-led care designed to move you forward efficiently and safely.

Our approach combines advanced manual therapy techniques, including joint mobilisation and soft tissue treatment , with progressive, tailored rehabilitation. Exercise is the foundation of every programme we create, as it remains the most effective and research-supported way to achieve sustainable recovery.

A key part of your journey takes place in our dedicated on-site rehabilitation space. This allows us to guide you through structured strength and movement work in a professional clinical environment, ensuring your progression is purposeful, measured, and specific to your goals.

We do not believe in short-term fixes. We identify the root cause, address it thoroughly, and equip you with the tools to stay strong, resilient, and injury resistant long after treatment has finished.

What to Expect:

Your First Appointment

Your first session lasts around 60 minutes. It will begin with a detailed consultation, including a full history of your symptoms, any previous injuries or treatment, and your goals for recovery. This provides the foundation for a thorough physical assessment.
The assessment may include observing how you move, testing range of motion, and a hands-on examination of the relevant structures. Your physiotherapist will talk you through the findings clearly and explain the plan going forward.

Treatment

Physiotherapy treatment is tailored to you and may include manual therapy, soft tissue work, targeted exercises, and practical advice on activity modification. You will often leave your first session with exercises to do at home. These form an important part of your recovery, and your physiotherapist will make sure you feel confident carrying them out.

What to Wear

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is ideal so your physiotherapist can assess and treat you effectively. You will remain clothed throughout your appointment. For lower body complaints, shorts are recommended. For upper body or spinal issues, a vest or loose top is helpful. Your physiotherapist will always explain what they need to see and why before any assessment begins.

After Your Appointment

Some mild soreness after hands-on treatment is normal and usually settles quickly. Your physiotherapist will give you clear aftercare advice and let you know what to expect as your recovery progresses.

Follow-up Appointments

Follow-up sessions are usually 45 minutes. Your physiotherapist will keep you updated on your progress and adjust your programme as you improve.
